A serpent of urban designed architecture in the city landscape of Cairo.
Father and Son Skyscraper / IAMZ STUDIO
Three main elements style an interesting mix of urban design thoughts and architectural
innovation. The idea of decreasing the crowding in the capital of Cairo by rising
it into the sky - put in the middle of a tripod intersection is executed with
gentle and dynamic forms layered above each other. The sculpture manifest a landmark
where it turns its reptile tail into the ground stabilizing the core spine of
the building.
It is though the green roofgardens a study in moving the density of population
upwards rather than horizontal and should have some credit for this - however,
the concept is though related to urban design it is of course more a pure architectural
innovation calling for attention.
It is though a beautiful skyline very nicely placed in a dead zone of the city
grid.
