LED in Space

Håkon Iversen, the president & founder of NUDA have been invited to keynote at the LED in Space Seminar in Gdansk, Poland.

The Power of Light in an Urban Context
The seminar is organized within the project „LED – Increasing Energy saving through conversion to LED lighting in public
space”. The seminar will include more than 50 participants representing over thirty
institutions from 10 European cities, including Kalmar, Rostock, Bad Doberan,
Oskarshamn, Wismar, Warsaw, Gdańsk and others. The program for this seminar will
focus on presentations of the thoughts and experiences and points of view on questions
related to best practices on innovative methods of public lighting in cities and
regions, which could reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emissions in order
to adapt existing LED solutions to cities needs.
During this seminar, the participants will serve as a venue for discussing this
issue with local authorities/decision makers/politicians/ officials in municipalities
and regions, private companies/producers from Pomeranian region.
The seminar will be connected with the formal opening of an art installation
called ‘Amber Drops’, located under the bridge above Szopy Street. This investment
is realized within the LED project as a next edition of the long-term work on
The Outdoor Gallery of the City of Gdańsk, managed by the Centre for Contemporary
Art ‘Łaźnia’. The ‘Amber Drops’ installation will be formed with the yellow translucent
pebbles made of epoxy resin with a built in LED lighting system that will shine
after dark when natural light diminishes.
