Changes for the future of NUDA
26. January 2012
NUDA started 2012 with a big restructuring of the organization which will benefit everyone for the better.
FUTURE PROSPECTS
I founded NUDA in 2005 and kick started the organization with the first of many
annual NUDA conferences in 2006: Cities of Tomorrow. During the years NUDA have
been slowly developing into a strong network of knowledge and is becoming more
and more visible on the international arena of urban design.
The organization has built a strong network of knowledge and will in the future
manifest this stronger through a high degree of public involvement. The core programs
of NUDA has been stated and focus will be centered around four units:
Conference management
Workshops, Meetings & Seminars
Urban research
NUDA Community
The newly established NUDA Student Board with Moa Sundberg as chairman is our
greatest proud. Reaching out to urban students throughout the Nordic region has
been our aim since 2005. Today it has been a reality and we strongly believe that
gathering the nordic urban design students will enhance the professional profile
of Urban Design and NUDA as organization.
2012 will be the year NUDA streamlines its core focus and we have many exiting
news that will be posted accordingly. Involvement and partnerships with exiting
projects, organizations and people is being finalized and projects, conferences,
meetings are being planned and soon posted in our calendar.
As you might have noticed we have made some minor changes on our website for
your benefit. We will also post articles of high academic and informational value
about urban design and other integrated projects and research. We will also call
for others to send us articles, research papers and more to be posted if approved
by our editor. These articles and more will be selected to be part of the NUDA
Book of Urban Design which is aimed to be published every half year. The first
publish will be done in November together with our Best Student Projects 2012
Book.
The enthusiastic NUDA team will provide a platform of activities and knowledge
together with the dynamic new Student Board.
We are looking forward to finally let the world know more about NUDA and what
we can provide urban design - and other professions involved in the process of
city and regional development - more substance and direction for the Nordic region.
