NUDA Conferences

About NUDA Conferences
There are many crucial issues which need to be addressed regarding how the cities
of the future will be developed and planned. Generating sustainable growth for
our cities requires the clear vision of the city planner. Employing urban design
as a tool for future city planning has proven itself to be of great importance
within all aspects of city development.
The annual Nordic Urban Design conferences aims to set focus on Nordic and international issues related to
the complex management of cities, and to be at the forefront discussing new approaches
and perspectives towards the field of urban design. It is crucial for NUDC to
yearly address new issues within urban development inviting the best within their
fields from the international arena, and draw on their experience. I
t is important for NUDA to establish a high professional and exclusive urban
design conference which ables to create international and Nordic networks while
at the same time promoting the necessity of urban design as an important tool
within urban management.
Strategy
The NUDC strategy displays a high ambition to become the foremost important urban
design conference and network forum within the Nordic countries seeking to challenge
professionals with something out of the ordinary.
As urban design is still not established as a certified profession within the
Nordic countries, NUDA has strategically defined NUDC as the most important forum
for promoting urban design within the Nordic countries. NUDA has defined a five
years strategy for increasing knowledge about urban design, knowledge about Nordic
Urban Design Association and slowly build a good relationship to urban designers
and other professionals as an organisation of necessity.
Keynote speakers
The NUDC will always thrive to invite the best professionals within their field
of expertise as conference keynotes. This will enable NUDC to stand out as an
attractive and important conference for sharing necessary knowledge about urban
design and place making.
